Hello all,

My family and I are new to the sponsorship program and are sponsoring a beautiful 4 year old girl named Nelly. Since we are just starting this exciting and God lead endeavor I felt it proper to share how we became involved with this project and our hope to be more involved in the future.

My family and I recently started attending Citywalk Church in Downtown San Diego. Our first Sunday was the last Sunday before Pastor Steve and Ali were leaving for Uganda to finalize the adoption of Perez and bring him back to the States. It was such a spiritual event to be a part of even though we hardly knew anybody involved. A while later my daughter Eleanor and son Tory told me they wanted to sacrifice their Christmas presents this year so we could fill the shoe boxes with gifts and necessities for underprivileged kids and so we could sponsor a child in Uganda. As Christmas approached I was sure they would change their minds but after attending Sunday school with Perez and being a part of a ministry of love with people like Steve and Ali we all could not have been more blessed.

After reading all of Nicole’s letters from last year, my wife Tracy and I are doing everything we can to get the word out and tell the story of the children and school. We don’t even have any pictures or info on Nelly yet but Eleanor is so fired up she wrote her a letter asking a bunch of questions and enclosed a family picture. Thanks so much to Michele for calling me so we could get the letter off in time.

This probably wasn’t the story this section was designed for but I felt compelled to share hoping others considering sponsoring might find it of interest. Thank you to all who have given us this opportunity and I hope there is more we can do to help and be involved. Thanks again and may His peace be with all.
