About The Kids

How it All Got Started:
My friend, Andy Hoang, visited Mukono, Uganda in November 2006. Upon his return he shared with me many stories of his experience and adventure. In March 2007, I attended a fundraiser and met Pastor Stephen, he was visiting from Uganda to raise awareness and he said, “You should come to Uganda.” That’s how it all got started. After much preparation, myself and the team of 6 others departed San Diego on November 7th, 2007, now knowing how it would change my life.
About the Kids:
Many children in Uganda have lived a life more painful and sad than any adult should have to endure. In June of 2007, according to UNICEF, there were 2.2 million orphans in Uganda and half of those have lost one or two parents to the AIDS pandemic. This is true for the children in Mukono as well. “I am most grateful for being alive”, said Lynnet Sabaano. With her mother being ill she The kids are amazing. They are full of life, hope and a desire to make a difference.
About the School:
In April of 2008 the school had 800 in attendance and 400 living on-site. The children are grateful for having a place to attend school and grow spiritually.
